Unusual Family Vacations

Thought I would do something different this time. For one last Hurrah, lets look at some unique, memorable and family-friendly vacations.

Try a treehouse or lighthouse, or a cave to add interest to your vacation. There are several that you can go to (listed here http://www.adventurelandtravel.com/UnusualLodging.html).

Try renting a farmhouse and living in authentic farm style (well, not quite, but the food is fresh, as is the air). Lost Mountain Lodge http://www.lostmountainlodge.com/farmhouse.html is located near a beach, this farm house if full of luxuries that will make mom want to stay for ever, while allowing the children to walk to the beach or play in the yard.

Going to Europe? Try a barge tour (http://www.bargeexperts.com/). It is a wonderful way to see Europe AND experience riding on a barge.

Try a vacation by rail (http://www.vacationsbyrail.com/). What a great way to see the States and expose your children to the fun of riding on a train.

The kids may hate you if you tell them that this is actually a learning vacation, but take them, anyway. They will have tons of fun while they learn (http://www.learningvacations.com/).

The idea is to bond and just enjoy each other. Have fun learning......uh...vacationing!!
