A massage at the Dentist.

What a radical concept. You have a dental appointment that you are looking forward to and you count down the days to the procedure. Why is that? Well, the dentist that you are going to see has laid out his office so that it is more like going to the spa, then going to a dentist. There are fruits and beverages to eat, free foot massagers in the waiting room, the subtle, pleasant scent of lavender, and a the soothing sounds of spa music wafting down the halls. Aaaah, pure bliss. During the actual procedure, you find that you are enjoying the music coming through the headphones they have given you. In some offices, they have video mask goggles that you can put on to watch your favorite show.

The trend toward dental spas is a growing one. Many dentists that have taken this approach have enjoyed the increase in patients and growth of revenue that it provides. Patients are so calm that it is easy to work on them safely, and they often opt for additional services that are not covered by their insurance. Spa Finder lists three and this article talks about Dental Spas in Maryland. A simple Google search will unearth these ortho-treasures so be sure to find one in your area and try it. You can't beat the feeling, and may just end up changing your dentist permanently.
