Cutting Costs, Saving Money

Call me miserly or call me frugal, but I am very particular about saving money so that I can splurge on exotic trips and fun family vacations. Here are some lovely pages that will help put us on the road to savings.

FOR BABY

1. Make your baby wipes at home (instructions can be found at http://www.thefrugalshopper.com/articles/babywipes.shtml).

2. Make most of your baby food yourself. Recipes and ideas at http://www.thefrugalshopper.com/articles/babyfood.shtml.

3. Is baby constipated? Use mashed papaya or pumpkins to make them regular. Much cheaper and healthier than an enema. (Check with the doctor first to make sure that YOUR baby will be okay with these foods).

4. Teething gel, natural baby oil and more recipes can be found here: http://www.theherbsplace.com/essentialchildren.html

FOR MOM

1. Make your own laundry detergent and save lots of money. Ingredients are here: http://www.thefrugalshopper.com/articles/detergent.shtml

2. Need natural mosquito repellant, or just want to make your body feel great? Try some of these recipies: http://www.theherbsplace.com/essentialbath.html

3. Sunburn Relief!! When summer comes we sometimes get giddy with joy at the thought of yet another sunny day. Here are recipes to deal with the after effects. http://www.thefrugalshopper.com/articles/sunburn.shtml

Miscellaneous

1. Here is a great site with ideas on ways to make some extra money. Great ideas for teens who want to work, or mothers who are at home with their own children. It's really extensive: http://www.makemoneykids.com/money_making_ideas.shtml

2. Using vinegar to clean your body and your house. Use the links on the left side to navigate (page 1, page 2, etc...) http://www.vinegarbook.co.uk/vinegar_book_beauty_and_health_page_1.shtml

3. Salt has numerous uses. Here are just a few (again use the left hand side to navigate) http://www.saltbook.co.uk/salt_book_in_the_kitchen_page_1.shtml

4. Frugal Homemakers (http://www.frugalhomemaker.com/) has wonderful tips about ways to have an economically great time.

Good luck on your financial journey. Drop me a note when you become a millionaire (or, better yet, just adopt me!).
